QUEENS, NY — A Queens truck driver was stabbed to death yesterday by his teenage son, who erupted in anger after his father clipped his fingernails too short for his liking, police said.

"The son thought his nails were too short and it made him look effeminate," a police source said of 17-year-old William Smith.

The son thought his dad made his nails look effeminate.

Smith was charged with the murder of his dad, also called William Smith, 58, who police said was stabbed twice in the neck with a pocketknife.

The elder Smith, a truck driver for the Daily News, had come home from work about 1:40 a.m. when he decided to trim his son's nails.
